hoast is an independent exhibition space, run by visual artists Wolfgang Obermair and Ekaterina Shapiro-Obermair. Since its foundation in 2017, it has hosted over seventy exhibitions and other events while also initiating several projects in cities abroad, such as Odesa, Prague, Turin, and Madrid. The curatorial program aims to connect the local and international art scene, with a special focus on positions from Eastern and Southeastern Europe. In 2020, the space was awarded the Prize of the City of Vienna (Offspace-Preise der Stadt Wien).
