Once the laughter has faded, the fog of understanding clears. Only then does a hint of what we consider to be truth become visible. At the end of the comedy, even the joke begins to stutter because it secretly struggles for words, searching for a twist to escape its own forced death in the punchline. When the final curtain of this farce falls, the true extent of the tragedy is revealed.
Oh, how we laughed! And now? All that remains is a reflexive giggle, trying to mask fear and insecurity.
