Cells are omnipresent as the building blocks of life, but are not very present in our human perception, as even the smallest (known) cell cannot be seen with the naked eye. While animal cells, plant and fungal cells as well as the more simply constructed prokaryotes, which include bacteria, are similar in many respects, they have special features. On the billboards, strategies of demarcation and permeability are explored in visual form. Where in some places a semi-permeable membrane regulates the exchange of substances, elsewhere it is the resistant cell wall made of chitin that assumes a fundamental function for the organism. In the outdoor area of the Flucc, an urban gardening project with migrant references is being created that allows borrowed plants to linger under a yurt. In addition, a screening of Kyrgyz documentaries will provide insights into ecological issues, which will be discussed with the filmmakers.
